Norwegian Mountains Will Sell M2M November 23, 2000 M2M have not attained the success the record company was hoping for. But Marit Larsen <17> and Marion Raven <16> are not giving up. Now they are taping a video in Norway to speed up the record sales. STRYNEFJELLET : - We're expecting to get percentage of Stryn's income from tourism next year, Marion Raven says and smiles while she poses easily in Norwegian nature. After taping three videos in Los Angeles, the duo's Norwegian background is being profiled in their new video 'The Day You Went Away' Four Glasses of Milk A Norwegian-American camera team consisting of 22 people is tapingthe video during two days in Sjodalen at Strynefjellet. -- When we taped 'Mirror Mirror' in Los Angeles, there were at least 200 on the set. Chaos and an exaggerated amount of people, really, says Marion. The last thing Marit and Marion did before they went home to Lorenskog one and a half week ago, was to pay in front of 15000 in Mexico City. Before that, they were joining Hanson on a six week long part of their tour in the USA. The girls came home to have some time off and write new songs. -- When I came home I slept for 15 hours until somebody woke me up. A certain peace is given to you when you get to sleep in your own bed, admits Marit. -- Yeah, and that's why it's so great that we get to make this video in Norway. Today I drank four glasses of milk, Marion reports happily. Hanson Love Affair? From the celeb page in the New York Post, the girls also brought back a rumor to old Norway, about them having dates with the Hanson brothers. The New York tabloid claims that the history about Marion being together with Zac <15> and Marit being in love with Isaac <19>, is confirmed. -- Hehe, we don't wanna say anything about that, Marit and Marion say. -- We're the Hanson boys' age, so I guess it's not strange that rumors like that are popping up, says Marion -- It is, of course, a little funny and flattering that people want to know something about us. We laugh about that, Marit adds. -- People thinks whatever they want, our lips are sealed! they report. Disappointing Sales M2M has sold over a million copies of the album 'Shades of Purple'. It is a lot, but disappointing seeing that Atlantic's and the girls' manager's expectations were ten million albums. -- What disappoints us more is that people ask if we're disappointed. A million albums sold is not bad at all. And just in the USA we have sold more than a million singles. That's really good, concludes Marion. They are less happy about the 30000 copies thay have sold in Norway. Write Their Own Songs While 'The Day You Went Away' is tailored for the Asian Market, 'Everything You Do' is going to be the new USA single in January. But during a break at Strynefjellet Marit and Marion are sitting in the van, writing a new song. -- It is important to say that 'Shades of Purple' isn't dead yet. But we have started to work on the new album, M2M's godfather, producer Kenneth Lewis says. While the girls' first pop album eas put together by a bunch of the world's most famous song writers and producers, Lewis thinks that the girls will indicate themselves more next time. -- They are going to contribute with a lot more. The experiences from the first albums are both positive and negative. Now the girls wish to write more of the material themselves. I'm guessing they will go in a Sheryl Crow direction. They will be genuine song writers, he says. The second album is expected to be out next fall. In the meantime, the girls have started going to high school -- privately and via NKS. -- I'm not interested in spelling the words wrong when I'm writing lyrics, a determined Marion Raven points out. >> Dagbladet.no
