They grow up so fast, don’t they? December 12, 2001 By Elisa Chia Story by TODAY TEENAGE romance is expressed and explored in The Big Room, M2M’s followup album to their hit debut record Shades of Purple. Marion Raven and Marit Larsen of M2M have matured since their first album and they feel their music has grown with them. Their latest offering has a more acoustic sound and an edgier feel. They wrote the songs on this album and the lyrics are based on their experience with love. “A lot of the songs are about longing because we travel all the time, so it’s hard for us to experience teenage love,” said Marion. So what kind of guys are the girls looking for? “I want him to be my best friend, for us to do anything together ... It’s cool if he is funny and doesn’t take himself too seriously, but he must be confident,” replied Marion. As for Marit, her ideal guy must understand that music takes priority in her life. For now, however, the launch of The Big Room takes precedence. The girls have been touring Asia for the past month, promoting the album. They arrived in Singapore on Sunday and were whisked away to the MediaCorp TV Theatre as guest performers for Talentime 2001. Looking tired, their eyes lit up when they talked about going back to Norway for Christmas. “I can’t wait to go Christmas shopping in Oslo,” Marion said wistfully.
